Frequently Asked Questions About Radar Presence Sensors (FAQ)
Can the radar sensor see through walls?
Radar waves can penetrate light materials such as drywall, wood, or glass. This is often an advantage (concealed mounting), but it can also cause false triggers. In the Senvolon sensor's settings, however, you can configure the distance and sensitivity so it ignores movement behind a wall.
Is the radar radiation dangerous?
No. The transmit power of our sensors is far below that of a typical Wi-Fi router or smartphone and is completely safe for humans and animals.
How is the presence sensor powered?
To ensure continuous radar measurement and a Wi-Fi connection without latency, the sensor requires a permanent power supply (usually USB-C).
